511 days ago 5 kts with gusts of 17kts then filled in to 10-18kts then 15-20kts ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU
6.5m Turbo- WT57 ( 90ltre) - 28cms Wt weedy
Sailed 1.30-3.10pm with a break
Finally! Blisss..
I wasn't at all keen when I arrived as it was mainly 5kts with a few gusts to 17kts.
Rigged the big board for the lulls and sail for the gusts. By the time I was entering the water it had filled in so I changed to the 90ltre.
A bit patchy with peaky chop heading above the point to Carey but a lovely bearaway back. Powered enough to be scary but not dangerous and some nice flatter areas.
Got all my gybes. Subplaning but tidy. I'm trying to change my feet earlier which is really helping.
Did 2 runs then had a rest. Roasted in my wettie so I changed to a rashie.
Back out for one extra run but pretty maxed out by now so had fun and called it.
Much more tiring than Lake George. Nowhere to have a rest out there either..
I hate wasting wind but I was too tired afetr 40mins of a heartrate above 164bmp.
Cripes that was fun..like a summer NE.
Andrew & Nic , Tony and Jen , plus other wingers.
The lake was empty of boats..

511 days ago Jimmy's beach, nsw. patrik 120, Ezzy 6.5, 40cm. If cyclone weather is hurting anyone, sorry. Here was nice. Like summer, but the wind was there at 7am NE 18kts, Second brekky and then started sailing midday. Overpowered and the odd tailwalk again, de-powered the kit, mast base forward, downhual, outhaul, then no power. Ahh, realised it was pulsey, not gusty. Found a happy medium and stuck with it. Some knee high peeling waves today. Feathering. Didn't really know what to do hitting them going out, probably looked like crazy bunny trying to jump, keen to learn. Riding tiny swell lines back through the bay felt good. All felt good, looked suuuuper nasty going out but it was mellow, no rain came, sun came out full force. 3 wingers. No boats. No turtles. No kiters.
