557 days ago Not normally my conditions, but I enjoyed that.
Up and down wind, plenty of big holes in between gusts. Very high water with no real flats.
Rigged the new 60cm with 25cm, 40/60 weedy and 6.2 Koncept.
This combo works well, but it took me all my session to work out the fastest conditions. Strongest wind made the most chop and I was battling to get over 28kts. Getting just on the front of the gust after a lull, was probably the best, but I also found some flater water in moderate wind was faster than stronger wind. So my fastest run was my 2nd last.
I wasn't comfortable being out there by myself. I'm not confident in the gusts and chop, so could envisage a nasty off.
So after my companions, Ant, Pas, Steve and Rob went in I followed.

557 days ago That went better than I expected. Water was chopped up and high , so on my firt run my feet allmost got shacken out of the foot straps. It must
have been the slimy muk I walked though that stuk to my feet. !?
But then I got stuck in and things went well. Had the old wintec kinetik 52wide, the ka kon 5.8 and a weedy with a bit extra rake , 23cm (don't remember what it was?)
My nautical mile had 3 gybes in it ,,, I didn't think I had anauty, go figure.?
